L+R’s wedding was one of the highlights of our 2022 season, and one that will definitely be close to our hearts for years to come! We absolutely LOVE it when couples really make the day about and authentic to themselves, and this day was no exception! The day was so effortless, everyone so warm and lovely, the stunning Terrace Room at the Gardiner Museum in downtown Toronto provided an amazing platform for their celebration of love! And the aesthetic was straight up rad!
We started the day with them at the Hazelton Hotel for one of the most relaxed and fun mornings we’ve ever had with a couple getting ready! With their wedding party (all in BOMB matching PJS!) and immediate family present, it made for a fun, light, and meaningful hangout before their nuptials!
For their first look, we took L+R around to the back of the Hazelton Hotel where they could share a private and quiet moment together. We even started getting choked up behind our cameras as they turned around to see each other decked out in their wedding gear for the first time and were later joined by their dog, Delilah! (Please include your furry family members on your wedding day – you’ll love having them there! Pro tip though – hire a pet sitter for the day or designate a family member as the caretaker so you don’t have to stress!)
We took L+R on a walk through Yorkville and along University Ave with the ROM and subway stations as killer backdrops for their couples session, playing with composition and architecture, setting up sweet and fun moments between them, and allowing L+R to just be themselves! They killed it!
Their ceremony and reception were held in the Terrace Room at the Gardiner Museum with more stunning views of the ROM and downtown Toronto. Floor to ceiling windows gave both a modern aesthetic as well as warming up the space to match all of the love and feeling as they exchanged vows! Mad Bash truly made the space come to life with tons of color, tastefully mismatched lounge furniture, and as wedding gifts for their guests, one of L’s mother even hand painted a miniature painting for everyone! As guests were arriving, someone was going around with their rings for people to “warm” by holding them and projecting their love and intentions onto them!
With their best friend acting as MC for the evening, the assembled crowd was guided through an evening full of funny stories, heartfelt speeches, sneaky kisses, and a dance party that rivaled New Years Eve ‘99! With the award winning mixologists from Civil Liberties behind the bar, guests were treated to some of the best drinks of the season to keep the party fueled and alive! At the end of the night, R completely stole the show with an outfit change complete with a pair of the sparkliest boots that she hand glued every rhinestone to!
